Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a list of our most frequently asked questions we get about our services. You can also research at the UW extension page as well.

How many times do you visit?

We typically visit your property between 1 to 6 times a year, depending on your chosen services. If you've enrolled in the 5-step fertilizer and weed control program, along with grub prevention and fall aeration, we will visit a maximum of 6 times, though it's more likely to be 5 visits. These visits are generally spaced about 5-6 weeks apart, while the first two visits may be scheduled 3-4 weeks apart.

Do I have to do anything after an application?

After each application or visit, you will receive an "after application sheet." This sheet will all the details from the application along with guidelines on what to do and what to avoid. It is recommended to stay off the lawn for 24 hours. Most products we use permit re-entry once the lawn is dry.

How do I pay?

Please check your email for details. You can send payments via Venmo to @wopperts. There is a Dropbox located at the front of our house inwonago. Currently, we do not accept credit cards, but we plan to implement a client portal in the future that will allow customers to pay through their personal.

Are the products safe for pets?

When applied correctly by a professional, these products pose a minimal risk of exposure to customers.

It rained after you made an application. What do I do?

We include a sticker to ensure the application becomes 'rain proof' in approximately 2 hours. We closely track the weather and will halt applications well in advance of any potential rain."

What if it's hot and dry? Do I still have to take an application then?

It can be quite risky to use both herbicide and fertilizer when temperatures exceed 85 degrees and the weather has been dry. It's not always advisable to apply these products to dormant turf. So we often find it best to skip or avoid applications when it conditions are not favorable. An irrigated or watered lawn will be the only lawn I will apply too during stressful times .

I still have weeds in my lawn. What do I do?

A helpful guideline is to wait about 10 days. If you notice any live weeds after your last treatment, please give us a call to schedule a reapplication. This service is available for our 4-5 step customers only. If you've only had one application, it's normal to see varying weed growth, which may take a season or slightly less to control. With consistent applications over a few years, you'll experience a significant reduction in weeds, and eventually none, unless your lawn is dormant or under stress.
